Great Syrian food with cozy ottoman style interior. The pita was super fresh and good that we all ate one without the food and appetizers! The vegetable curry had a unique taste with a nice ginger kick and lots of veggies. The couscous was also great with flavorful gravy. The staff worked there for 28 years which was incredible!

Wow wow and wow! I need to bring everyone I know to try this place. Every team member is cordial and pleasant. Servers pay attention and the food satisfies. The kitchen delivers genuine dishes while servers are attentive. The restaurant earns more than maximum stars.

Amazing food and great atmosphere! I’m not that familiar with Middle Eastern food tbh, but I loved every single menue that we ordered! Cocktails are really good too. The website may look outdated, but the restaurant is waaay better than it appears on the website! The interior space setup is so pretty and relaxing. Lots of cushions and beautiful unique decorations. It wasn’t crowded at all on a Friday night without any reservations. Definitely recommend here!!

Accidentally stumbled into this place when I was craving curry. Such a delight! Hidden gem! Nearly walked past it, thinking it was just a house but once you walk inside it is so intricately decorated. Very pretty. The food was so good with fresh naan and tasty sauce. I thought the portion looked small but it was actually very filling! Perfect serving! I tried a few drinks and they were refreshing and strong.

Exotically decorated townhouse ground floor with Moroccan wall hangings, cushions, cozy booths with low banquettes. Great visual style that the supposedly Mideastern food doesn't keep up with. Hummus had no garlic or lemon bite. We tried a good salmon curry, a large filet with a curried cream sauce. (curry, really?) The Salmon couscous (hoping for a tagine) was another fish filet with some plain couscous and steamed veggies on the side. The Lamb Kofte was a ground lamb patty with some rice and a few plain steamed veggies, but none of the dishes had the pizzazz or ethnic spice we were hoping for. No condiments to add either. So it has great ambience for a party but just so-so continental cuisine. Still, Salam is well priced for NYC, attractive and serves relatively large portions. Could not give it a 5 but a 4 will do for the right customer.

This is a seriously cute and delicious restaurant. Had the Maza for 2, 1 order of their lentil soup, and their homemade pomegranate ice tea - all of which was definitely enough food and had great variety. Sat in a beautiful area that transported me out of NYC. It really does feel like you are in someone's cozy apartment-turned-restaurant and someone is cooking in their home kitchen.. Waitress checked in a few times, but wasn't very warm. I think the food and ambience of this place still make it deserve 5 stars! Can't wait to bring a friend here.
